Clients Are Still Buying—Here’s How to Reach Them (Even in a Slower Economy)

If you’re a coach, consultant, or online service provider, you may have noticed a shift in the market. Lately, I’ve been hearing the same concerns come up again and again in my conversations with clients and peers:

💬 “The economy has slowed down.”
💬 “People are being more cautious with their spending.”
💬 “It feels harder to make sales.”

And if you’re running a business, you might be feeling it too.
I get it—when you’re putting your heart into your business and hearing more no’s than yes’s, it’s easy to feel discouraged. But before you jump to conclusions like “no one is buying,” I want to offer you a powerful mindset shift that has helped me and my clients stay consistent and successful, even when the market shifts.
grow your business with the right mindset in an unpredictable economy

Circumstances Don’t Create Results—Thoughts Do

One of the most important lessons I learned during my training as a mindset coach came from my mentor, Brooke Castillo, founder of The Life Coach School. She teaches that:
“It’s not our circumstances that create our results—it’s our thoughts about those circumstances.”
Read that again. Because even if it’s true that the economy has slowed down—and yes, you can find evidence to support that—focusing on that isn’t helpful.

When you tell yourself, “no one is buying,” it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. That thought leads to discouragement. Discouragement leads to inaction—or showing up with energy that repels instead of attracts. And that, in turn, creates exactly the result you don’t want: no sales.

Try This Instead: Focus on Who Is Buying

Here’s the mindset shift I want to offer you today:

Shift your thinking from “no one is buying” to “some people are buying.”

Because here’s the truth: even in a slower economy, people are still spending money. They’re just being more intentional—and they’re buying solutions to problems they’re highly motivated to solve.
Imagine someone with a migraine. They’re in debilitating pain, and they’re not going to wait until next week to find relief—they’ll go out in the middle of the night if that’s what it takes.

But if someone just ran out of their daily vitamins? They’ll wait.

That’s the difference between a “must-have” and a “nice-to-have.”
So let me ask you…

Is Your Offer Positioned Like a Vitamin—or a Painkiller?

If you want to continue growing your business in today’s market, your offer needs to be positioned as a solution to an urgent, real problem—not just a helpful extra.
You’ve got to know:
✅ What problem does your offer solve?
✅ Why does your ideal client want that problem solved now?
✅ What’s the cost of not solving it?
When your offer is positioned like a painkiller—not a vitamin—you’ll attract people who are ready to say YES.

So… what’s one urgent problem your offer solves?
Take a moment to get clear on that.

And if you’re ready to stop shrinking back and start showing up with a strategy that works—especially now—you don’t have to do it alone.
